Bintu Iyalode Oriekun Foundation is a faith-inspired, non-profit organization established to advance sustainable human development through education, poverty alleviation, youth empowerment, and strategic community interventions. We are driven by the conviction that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive regardless of economic or social circumstances.
Our Foundation was born out of a growing concern for the widening educational, economic, and social challenges facing vulnerable communities, particularly within the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria. While many nations benefit from strong philanthropic institutions that provide lasting support in education, healthcare, humanitarian relief, and community development, similar interventions remain inadequate in many parts of Nigeria. The Bintu Iyalode Oriekun Foundation exists to help bridge this gap through impactful, transparent, and sustainable initiatives.
Education lies at the heart of our mission. We believe that investing in knowledge is one of the most effective ways to transform lives and build prosperous communities. Through scholarships, educational grants, mentorship, and other forms of academic support, we seek to empower indigent students—especially orphans, the underprivileged, and talented young people with limited access to educational opportunities.
Beyond education, we are committed to addressing poverty through carefully designed empowerment programmes that promote self-reliance, economic inclusion, and improved livelihoods. We also recognize the immense potential of young people and are dedicated to nurturing responsible, ethical, and productive leaders who will contribute positively to society.
As part of our long-term vision, the Foundation also seeks to promote knowledge generation through the Oriekun Centre for Research on Islam in Nigeria (OCRIN)—an independent research institution dedicated to producing high-quality, evidence-based research that addresses contemporary issues affecting Muslims and society at large. Through research, collaboration, and policy engagement, OCRIN aims to provide practical solutions that foster national development and strengthen the intellectual contributions of the Muslim community.
At Bintu Iyalode Oriekun Foundation, we believe that lasting transformation is achieved when compassion is combined with knowledge, integrity, and strategic action. By partnering with individuals, institutions, and development organizations, we strive to create opportunities, restore hope, and build a future where education, dignity, and social justice are accessible to all.
