Bintu Iyalode Oriekun Foundation focuses on Education, Poverty Alleviation, Youth Empowerment, and Strategic Community Interventions
Eligibility Criteria
1. Muslim Indigent Applicants Only
This scholarship is open ONLY to Muslims who are orphans, vulnerable, or from disadvantaged backgrounds, with verifiable evidence of indigency.
2. Eligible Institutions
Students from recognized higher institutions of learning, including Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education, are eligible to apply.
3. Minimum Level of Study
Applicants must be in 200 Level or above (second year and beyond) at the time of application.
4. Academic Requirement
Applicants must have a minimum academic performance of Second Class Upper (2:1), Upper Credit, or equivalent qualification at the end of the immediately preceding academic session.
5. No Existing Scholarship
Applicants must not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship scheme at the time of application.
6. Screening Assessment
Shortlisted applicants must be available to participate in a screening aptitude test before final selection.
7. Scholarship Integrity Agreement
Selected applicants may be required to sign an undertaking confirming that the scholarship may be discontinued if:
- Any false or inconsistent information is discovered.
- Academic performance falls below the required standard.
8. Transcript Submission for Renewal
Beneficiaries must submit their annual academic transcript as a requirement for scholarship renewal.
9. Letters of Recommendation
Applicants must provide two (2) recommendation letters:
- One from the Amir of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) of the applicant’s institution.
- One from the Chairman of the Muslim Community of the institution.
10. Letter of Intent
Applicants must submit a one-page Letter of Intent explaining how the scholarship will support their academic journey, career goals, and future ambitions.
